Windsurfing: St.Margarets Bay-Kent

Sea Temperature: 16

We found St.Margarets Bay after going down a scary road in a gap in the cliffs and the bay contained a small shingle beach surrounded on both sides by the White Cliffs a very beautiful place to sail from and only just downwind of Dover Harbour.Again there was a slight wind shadow from the Cliffs but luckily there was a local wave sailer all ready rigged on the beach with 5.7 on a 100 lt. board. So we just had dinner in the good carpark and waited for him to go out.As he was lighter then me and only going okay I took a chance with 7.5 again on the Xantos which proved a good choice.Again once you got out of the wind shadow you were faced with the big rolling swell which was great fun to have fun in and gybe in.I beat up to the lighthoust toward Dover and it was great to gybe right under the cliffs!!! A good 1hr 30 mins out and a great long weekend which included over 8 hours sailing at 3 different venues !!!!
